Howdy, Forumites.
Been doing a few little changes here and there to try and improve the forum.
On usernames: When you sign up for an account, your username cannot contain Caps or Spaces, and you must include an email and a date of birth (the forum host has an age limit of 13). Once you've made your account, you can go to Profile>Edit Profile>Personal to change your display name to include Caps and Spaces, and you can go to the privacy tab to select who can see your email and date of birth. To mention users, you must type @username, not @displayname. You can find a user's actual username on their profile, or next to their display name in who'sonline.
The Shoutbox: After fiddling with the shoutbox settings, it seems that Brockhall's shoutbox is not permanent. You cannot see a shoutbox history, so after shouts disappear from the shoutbox, they're gone for good.
Themes: The Woods theme has been set to the forum default. If you want to choose a different theme, see the Questions and Answers thread. So far, the Woods theme seems to be the nicest option we have available, and I will look into fixing the two post icons that are out of place.
Membergroup Changes: This announcement is mainly for the Staff. Allocating members to usergroups changes their post rank and stars. A simple group such as "Registered Member" will lock users into the post rank of "Registered Member" and they will not advance in post rankings. To leave members in the default, registered users group, do not allocate them to any groups at all.
So far, we have a list of membergroups as follows;
Administrators
Global Moderators
Moderators
Season Namer
Away
Gagged
Let me know if there's any we're missing, but that should be all of them.
Spoilers: As I've previously stated, the spoilers on this forum are not quite up to Loamhedge's standards. I will be posting a poll in Suggestions and Concerns later today to ask members which of the two spoiler options they will prefer.
